Official Rules and Guidelines

Governor Rick Scott's Hispanic Heritage Month Excellence in Education Award Contest is open to all Hispanic, full-time educators in an elementary, middle, or high school in Florida. Three winners will be selected: one elementary (K-5) teacher, one middle (6-8) teacher, and one high school (9-12) teacher. Winners will be notified the week of October 3, 2011.

  • Completed nomination forms must be mailed to Florida's Foundation: Excellence in Education Award Committee, 820 East Park Avenue, Suite E-100, Tallahassee, Florida 32301, post-marked by September 23, 2011.
  • Nominations may be submitted by a principal, teacher, parent/guardian, or student.
  • Winners will receive a prize at the Governor's Hispanic Heritage Month celebration to be held in Tallahassee. Reasonable travel and lodging expenses will be paid for the winners and one immediate family member.
