Official Rules and Guidelines
Governor Charlie Crist's Inaugural Hispanic Heritage Month Excellence in Education Award Contest is open to all Hispanic, fulltime educators in an elementary, middle or high school in Florida. Three winners will be selected: one elementary (K-5) teacher, one middle (6-8) teacher and one high school (9-12) teacher. Winners will be notified the week of October 8, 2007.
- Completed nomination forms must be e-mailed to nominations@myflorida.com, or mailed to Executive Office of the Governor: Excellence in Education Award Committee, 400 S. Monroe Street, Suite 705, Tallahassee, Florida 32399, by 5:00 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2007.
- Nominations may be submitted by a principal, teacher, parent or student.
- Winners will receive a check for $1,500, and a $500 gift card to spend on classroom supplies.
- Winners will be presented their award at the Governor's Hispanic Heritage Month celebration to be held in Tallahassee on October 15, 2007. All travel and lodging expenses will be paid for the winners and one immediate family member.
